East-facing glazing in Rouen provides cool 4500K daylight until mid-morning. Our concepts supplement this with pendant clusters at 3000K positioned over communal tables, dimmed to 40 percent before 10:00 to prevent glare on reading surfaces.

Ceiling-mounted track concepts show fixture spacing at 1.4-metre intervals with 24-degree beam spreads aimed at table centres rather than guest faces.

Afternoon Transition

As solar angle shifts, west windows introduce warm lateral light. Concept plans specify sheer linen screens at 35 percent opacity to diffuse harsh afternoon rays without eliminating the connection to street activity outside.

Wall-wash sconces at 2700K activate on photocell triggers in concept specifications, maintaining 200 lux at seated eye level through dusk.

Evening Atmosphere

Evening concepts favour pools of light rather than uniform illumination. Table lamps with ceramic bases and linen shades create 150 lux islands surrounded by 50 lux ambient falloff that encourages intimate conversation.

We avoid exposed filament bulbs at guest eye level, specifying frosted globes or indirect cove lighting behind banquette backs instead.
