From Set Design to Hospitality Concepts
Greyhprosp was established in 2021 by interior stylist Amélie Gervais after a decade designing temporary sets for Rouen theatre productions. The transition to permanent hospitality concepts came when a developer asked her to stage an empty commercial unit as a hypothetical café for investor tours.
That single commission revealed a gap in the market: design studios either handled full architecture or offered generic branding, but few produced café-specific spatial concepts as standalone deliverables.
Current Team
Amélie leads concept direction and client presentations. Spatial draftsman Hugo Renard produces plan layouts and section drawings at 1:50 scale. Colour specialist Inès Morel curates pigment boards and lighting gel references for each project.
The studio deliberately remains a trio to preserve drawing consistency and limit concurrent commissions to four active concepts at any time.
Rouen Workshop
Our atelier occupies the second floor of a 19th-century commercial building on Rue de la République. The space houses material samples, a north-lit drawing table, and a presentation wall where clients review full-scale concept boards.
Visitors smell beeswax polish and fresh espresso from neighbouring shops, but we serve no beverages ourselves—the studio is a design workspace, not a hospitality venue.
Ethical Boundaries
We never present concept imagery as photographs of operating businesses. All visuals are clearly labelled as design proposals. We do not affiliate with equipment suppliers or receive referral fees from contractors.
Concept fees are disclosed upfront in written quotations with no hidden markups on specified materials.
Recognition
Greyhprosp concepts have been cited in the Normandy Design Review and exhibited at the Rouen Biennale d'Architecture Intérieure as speculative hospitality environments.
These accolades reflect design merit only; none of our concept cafés exist as functioning establishments unless independently built by commissioning clients.
